THE ORIGIN. Fox Cities Blog launched in the Fall of 2006 as an experimental blogging community, where residents of Wisconsin's Fox Cities area could talk about everyday life and entertainment which commercial media finds too insignificant or trivial to touch. With Fox Cities Blog, it is hoped that the everyday things that matter to people living in the Fox Cities will have a voice.

THE FUTURE. In time, as more Fox Cities readers come to Fox Cities Blog, we hope to expand the community aspects of the site. In future, we plan to introduce:

• Associate Editors/Bloggers, to add a larger perspective on local life. If you would like to blog on Fox Cities Blog, e-mail foxcitiesblog@gmail.com now!
• Forums, for the free, unfiltered exchange of ideas and views on local topics.
• Podcasts, free downloadable independent talk radio shows about the Fox Cities, unconstrained by corporate and advertising influence.
• A comprehensive local blog directory, indexing both local businesses and media, as well as local bloggers' own sites.
• Petitions, so the multitudes of Fox Cities residents can effect change.

GET INVOLVED. Fox Cities Blog was created in hopes of becoming an online community. If you would like to get involved in this independent project, we encourage you to contact us. Whatever help you can extend is appreciated. Besides associate editor/bloggers, those who can help out in technical, artistic, legal or other ways are certainly welcome. You could even help us out by telling a friend about the site. Word of mouth is a pretty powerful thing.
